Loughbrow House
stands 600ft above the River Tyne, looking over the market town
of Hexham to the North Tyne Valley, and yet only a mile from the
centre of town. The house is in the heart of the Northumberland
National Park, with ancient Hexham at the bottom of the hill, and
adjacent to Hadrian's Wall.
Loughbrow is
within easy distance of the Lake District, Scotland, Durham and
the many National Trust properties that abound throughout Northumbria,
which has a wonderfully rich heritage. Hexham is mid-way between
Carlisle and the east coast at Tynemouth, with the beautiful Northumberland
Coastline; Bamburgh and Lindisfarne, just a short drive away.
Northumberland
has a lot to offer in terms of outdoor activities and events. For
the seriously energetic the newly opened Hadrian's Wall Trail is
close by, with the delights of Keilder Water only a short distance
too. There are three local golf courses, with many other sports
and recreational activities on offer too.
Hexham is situated
close by the A69, and is easily accessible via local rail and road
networks from all directions. The local railway station lies on
the main Carlisle/Newcastle route.
